LEGAL INFORMATION
Carnival Corporation and Carnival plc (collectively referred to as "Carnival") operate under a dual listed company structure with primary stock exchange listings in the United States and the United Kingdom. Carnival is a global cruise business with a portfolio of leading cruise brands, including Princess Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Cunard, P&O World Cruises, AIDA, and Costa ('Carnival brands').
Carnival plc, has registered branches in Australia (ABN 23 107 998 443, 2TA 5580) and New Zealand (company number 1471215). These branches trade under various brand names, including Carnival Cruise Line and are subject to the Australian Privacy Principles introduced under Australian privacy legislation and the Information Privacy Principles introduced under New Zealand privacy legislation. In this policy "we", "us", "our" means Carnival plc.
PRIVACY NOTICE
If you choose to access the Carnival Corporate Careers Centre, we will collect personal information (including sensitive information) from you for the purpose of assessing your suitability for employment. Examples of the type of information we collect include your name, address, contact details, resume, employment history and referees’s name and contact details.
When assessing your application, we may disclose your personal information to organisations that assist us in the recruitment process, such as:
- recruitment agencies;
- agencies that assist in managing employment and recruitment databases;
- training and assessment organisations that conduct competency tests;
- medical practitioners and psychologists we engage to undertake medical and/or psychological assessments;
- various offices of Carnival Corporation and Plc (Carnival Corporation and Plc is headquartered in the United States and the United Kingdom and has registered branch offices in Australia, New Zealand and Japan) for administrative and human resources support, risk management and group management purposes.
We may also disclose limited amounts of your personal information (e.g. your name and the fact that you have applied for a job with us) to third parties from whom we request information about you, such as:
- previous employers or their current or former employees;
- referees named in your application;
- professional or trade associations;
- educational institutions;
- if you are applying for a senior position requiring a credit rating check – credit rating agencies;
- an insurer in relation to any current or past workers’ compensation claim you have made;
- if you are applying for a position requiring a criminal history check – police;
If your application is unsuccessful, unless you request otherwise, we will retain your information on file for consideration for future employment. We will take reasonable steps to destroy your information when we no longer need it.
You can access personal information we hold about you, subject to restrictions under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), by lodging a written request to our Privacy Officer. If you do not provide the information requested, you may not be able to apply for jobs online or subscribe to job alerts and we may be unable to assess your application.
PRIVACY CONSENT
You consent to us collecting and disclosing personal information about you, including sensitive information within the meaning of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), from and to the following individuals and organisations (and to such individuals and organisations disclosing such information to us) for the purpose of assessing your suitability for employment in the position for which you have applied and for any similar role within our organisation:
- your previous employers and their current and former employees;
- recruitment agencies;
- referees named in your application;
- professional and trade associations;
- licensing bodies for licence verification purposes;
- educational institutions for the purpose of verifying results and qualifications;
- if you are applying for a position requiring a criminal history check – police;
- if you are applying for a position requiring a credit rating check – credit rating agencies;
- insurers in relation to any current or past workers’ compensation claim you have made;
- training and assessment organisations in relation to conducting, or previously conducted, competency tests;
- medical practitioners and psychologists we engage to undertake medical or psychological assessments;
- agencies that assist in managing employment and recruitment databases;
- various offices of Carnival Corporation and Plc (Carnival Corporation and Plc is headquartered in the United States and the United Kingdom and has registered branch offices in Australia, New Zealand and Japan) for administrative and human resources support, risk management and group management purposes;
- where legal advice is required – our legal advisers.
I have read and understand the Privacy Notice and consent to Carnival using my personal information and sensitive information for the purposes mentioned above. I warrant and confirm that all information that I have provided in connection with my application for employment with Carnival is accurate and is not misleading and that Carnival may rely upon the information. I accept that false, misleading, inaccurate or incomplete information that I provide may lead to my application for employment being rejected, or to an offer of employment being withdrawn or to my dismissal from employment with Carnival.
