Carnival Australia are excited to announce: We are hiring a Key Account Manager to join our Princess Cruises sales team. Based in our office in Chatswood, Sydney, reporting to the Senior Director - Sales, Marketing & Service this permanent full-time opportunity is responsible for strengthening Princess Cruises' market leadership with our distribution partners across the Australia region. As the principle point of contact for key accounts, this role is accountable for business development and growth through planning, training, and marketing support, to achieve our financial objectives, market share and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and deliver strong business relationships & business plans with key accounts across Australia which maximise sales, deliver Princess Cruises revenue KPIs and build stronger partnerships.
  • Develop incentives promotional campaigns with key accounts to build their business and the Princess Cruises brands efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop regular program of training for product and sales staff within each key and wholesale account to ensure USPs, itineraries and product development are effectively communicated and drive the usage of our key sales tools across the networks.
  • Provide regular performance updates for each account, ensuring they understand the critical performance metrics with market benchmarks where appropriate.
  • Develop an annual A&P plan across all key account areas and manage the monthly A&P forecast across key accounts, to understand movements in forecast spend.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to communicate key account performance
  • Identify new partnership opportunities to broaden our distribution, products and services to existing clients through the sales force.
  • Interstate travel with days away from home

About you:

You're a result driven, engaged, and resilient individual that loves working within a dynamic environment. You will have extensive experience as a Key Account Manager with a passion for the travel or cruise industry. You are confident working with and interpreting data, translating it into findings offering ideas and solutions for the business to make the best commercial decisions. You are resilient, driven and demonstrate a high level of customer focus with commercial acumen and a focus on achieving results, with strong influencing, negotiation skills and ability to close the deal. You will have strong internal relationship building skills, with the ability to work with peers across multiple disciplines within a matrix structure. You are a confident public speaker and enjoy the opportunity to present to broad audiences, taking pride in your follow through and have a voracious appetite for customer service.  Sound knowledge of the market, strong trade partnerships and the ability to be agile and pivot with an entrepreneurial spirit. To be successful, we'd love to hear from people with:

  • 1-2 years' experience as a Key Account Manager
  • 4 years' experience in a business development or sales role across multiple distribution channels
  • Travel and Tourism industry preferred
  • High commercial acumen and a focus on achieving results; proven ability to set and drive the achievement of department objectives and KPIs
  • Strong business management and planning skills – financial acumen (forecasting and budgeting), marketing savvy, operational excellence, attention to detail.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to close the deal
  • Experience working cross functionally across a commercial team to develop and deliver strategic objectives
  • Intermediate MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Salesforce or exposure to a similar CRM
  • Internal relationship building skills, with the ability to work with peers across multiple disciplines within a matrix structure
  • Ability to travel and work outside of business hours, with days away from home
  • Valid passport and vaccination due to travel requirements
