This is not your typical Analyst role. This unique diverse role will see you supporting and coordinating product launches, ongoing BAU and adhoc analysis, producing dashboards, content for weekly commercial meetings across APAC commercial teams.

An exciting role for an experienced Commercial Analyst to join our Princess Cruises team based in our office in Chatswood, Sydney. Reporting into the Director, Market Planning, you will be responsible for regular reporting, drawing insights from market data, pricing recommendations, maintaining market capacity models, and creating and executing pricing strategies that recognise the ever-evolving consumer demands across the Asia Pacific markets whist ensuring the accurate build and communication of pricing and promotions within internal systems and marketing collateral.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the development of pricing and promotional strategies for ships based within the APAC region.  This includes analysis and financial modelling to support the recommendations for product launches and promotional activities.
  • Refreshing and maintaining weekly reports, including reasons for changes to revenue week on week.
  • Maintain master list of different fare types, including launch, campaign, and tactical fares.
  • Develop new reports and tools for commercial teams in Australia to use to help optimise their outputs.
  • Work closely with the USE-based Product Teams to drive APAC passenger sourcing for international trades.
  • Provide other ad-hoc analyses and insights as required and support adhoc inquiries.
  • Ensure new product information is communicated to the commercial team effectively and efficiently, supported by regular presentations and business updates.
  • Work closely with the Trade Marketing Executive to develop product and pricing communications for travel agents
  • Assist with timeline management for all workflows to ensure that activity reaches market as planned.
  • Coordinate timely and efficient building of promotion and voyage information including product launches, strategic promotions etc.

Aside from your fantastic multi-tasking skills, you will have a strong work ethic and although you can work autonomously, it is in a team environment where you flourish. You have experience supporting high profile projects whilst ensuring strong stakeholder relationships with an emphasis on high level coordinating skills and experience ensuring accurate information is captured and communicated to key stakeholders. To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated:

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years in a Planning analyst or an analytical role, preferably a commercial function.
  • Highly proficient time management, analytical and coordinating skills across multiple stakeholders.
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, interpreting data is mandatory.
  • Ability to analyse business and financial data and collate into clear reports.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • A strong desire to learn, be inquisitive, be proactive and always seeking to progress in your career.
  • Knowledge of SQL is desirable but not essential.
  • Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, or similar commercial discipline
  • Travel or Cruise experience - preferred but not mandatory.
