We have a newly created role for an experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist/Buyer! Reporting into the Director for Global Sourcing based in the USA with a locally based Leader in the Chatswood Sydney office, you will be responsible for sourcing medical supplies locally for our fleet across our house of brands whilst ensuring commercial savings, superior service and quality improvements including delivery in full every time.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

• Strategic sourcing of medical suppliers and supply for all onboard medical levels
• Develop and negotiate supplier contracts ensuring the best commercial outcome and continued supply levels
• Manage, measure and report on delivery in full to each cruise ship docked
• Monitor suppliers' performance through KPIs, manage their relationship and systematically communicate expectations and performance, 
• Investigate and resolve escalated supplier issues.
• Category spend and develop and implementing contract strategies and procurement activities on strategic projects for spend
• Serve as a subject matter expert on customer relationship management and supplier relationship management to Sourcing Organization, Global brands, and process partners

About you:

This hands-on role, you will be sourcing and building local business partnerships to support our ongoing medical supplies for our fleet. You will have demonstrated creative, strategic and commercial acumen with a focus on achieving results. You will work across multiple brands thus have outstanding organisation, time management, attention to detail and the ability to be agile and pivot when urgent requests are prioritised. You are a confident thinker, strong communication and negotiator with the ability to build trust and a positive experience for all stakeholders. As part of a close-knit team, your outgoing personality and willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the work done will set you apart from your competitors.

We would love to hear from people with: 

• 4+ years' experience as a Sourcing or Buyer Specialist                                                       
• Experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, Finance
• Industry background in Pharmaceuticals, medical devices or counter medical knowledge
• Exposure in regulated environments such as medical, automotive, aerospace
• Confident decision-making skills including the ability to negotiate outcomes in the context of competing priorities.
• Ability to engage key stakeholders both internal and external teams at various levels
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong levels of resilience, excellent prioritisation skills and a team-centric attitude 
• Ability to produce concise documentations with high attention to detail
• Certification in Six Sigma – bonus but not mandatory
