Carnival Australia is part of the Carnival Corporation, the world's largest travel leisure company, representing iconic brands including P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Seabourn. 

Reporting to the Senior Electrical Assets Manager this position oversees the maintenance of all electrical, electronic and entertainment equipment and systems for P&O Cruises Australia's vessels.  

Key responsibilities will include:

  • coordinating planned maintenance, breakdown repair and obsolescence management
  • overseeing vessel certification and renewals under the direction of Senior Electrical Assets Manager
  • assisting with the development of project plans, budgets and business cases for R&M and CAPEX
  • in liaison with ship and shore teams, ensuring Maintenance and HESS systems are kept up to date and items are closed within agreed times
  • managing effective working relationships and open lines of communication with shipboard and shoreside management teams and vendors
  • attending refit/out of service maintenance periods as necessary and performing ship visits with contractors/repair yard/maritime authorities when required 

We seek applications from tertiary qualified Electrical/Electronics Engineers with a minimum of 3 years' experience providing advice and instruction on electro-technical matters for a sizeable operation who bring:

  • project and budget management experience
  • great interpersonal and relationship building skills; a collaborative and team centric approach to work
  • sound communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence across all levels (with internal and external stakeholders)
  • initiative and strong problem solving skills
  • resilience, with the ability to maintain focus under periods of sustained pressure
  • personal accountability and motivation, with a reputation for dependability and reliance
  • experience working in marine operations with operational knowledge of large cruise vessels (highly desired)
