Carnival Australia is part of the world's leading leisure travel company, Carnival Corporation and plc, and home to iconic brands including P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Seabourn. 

We seek to appoint a Port Agent to join our Sydney-based team who provide an efficient, timely and cost effective port agency service in Sydney for all Carnival Group vessels. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating paperwork, customs, quarantine, immigration requirements and approvals on the arrival and departure of the ship in port - plus lots more to bring our vessels in and out of Sydney. 

This exciting fast-paced position involves a lot of forward planning and handling multiple tasks concurrently, building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, real time problem solving, and budget management, administration and reporting. This is an office-based position however there will be a frequent requirement to attend to our ships in port, outside of normal office hours (including 4.30am starts and some weekend work). 

We seek applications from people with at least 2 years' experience in an operational role involving the coordination of lots of moving parts who bring:

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high attention to detail
  • proven relationship building, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • an analytical and structured approach to problem solving, with the demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and make sound decisions on the fly
  • excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks to meet immovable deadlines
  • an ability to work autonomously and also as part of a highly successful team
  • strong general administration skills, including intermediate MS Office (Word and Excel)
  • a flexible ‘can do' attitude 

Experience with project coordination, logistics, port management or ship/fleet operations would be highly regarded but is not essential.
