Do you love travel and Instagram? An exciting role has opened up to manage the social media for P&O Cruises - Australia's modern cruise brand. 

It's an exciting time to join P&O Cruises with the brand investing in refreshing its fleet. The newest addition is a spectacular Grand Class ship, Pacific Adventure, arriving in 2020, with another ship scheduled in 2021! 

Reporting to PR Manager, PO Cruises Australia, and working closely with our Corporate Affairs, Sales & Marketing, Customer Service and Shipboard teams, this position is responsible for building a positive reputation for P&O Cruises Australia through our owned social media channels by delivering cutting edge, authentic and engaging content and stories, along with helping to mitigate issues that arise. 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • providing ongoing strategic recommendations for social media including: role of channels, vision, tone of voice and execution plans, analysing key metrics and tweaking strategy as needed
  • copywriting engaging content calendars, working with marketing to source imagery and UGC content, arranging photoshoots, utilising and repurposing existing client content
  • setting up new social media channels and optimising current channels as required
  • developing community management plans and guidelines, and actively engaging in social media conversations
  • work with Digital Marketing to run paid media - setting targeting parameters, identifying posts in content calendars to boost, and setting up fan acquisition and other paid advertising
  • leading and managing external agencies in executing multiple streams of social media 

We're keen to hear from people with several years' experience in a fast paced B2C social media and public relations environment who bring:

  • experience managing social media marketing, community management and developing social media strategies
  • in-depth knowledge and understanding of various social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
  • a working knowledge of SEO principles including keyword research and Google Analytics
  • an ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side
  • strong writing skills, across a range of formats and audiences
  • excellent interpersonal, relationship building, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
  • large doses of creativity, initiative and curiosity 

This position will some work outside of office hours and travel - including onboard.
