Carnival Australia is part of the Carnival Corporation, the world's leading cruise holiday company, representing iconic brands including P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Seabourn. 

Reporting to the Director – Supply Chain, this entry-level position is responsible for the coordination of activities between Carnival Australia's Hotel Operations and Supply Chain teams.  The role will offer support in terms of vendor management, cost management, and the sourcing of Hotel goods when an unplanned event results in non-supply. 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the required products are contracted and supplied to the ships
  • Assist in local bid list development, RFP issuance, bid analysis, price/cost analysis and recommendation for award
  • Work with Supply Chain Logistics to plan ordering and delivery schedules
  • Attending procurement meetings and preparing correspondence and reports
  • Ensure prices paid are in agreement with awarded contracts
  • Maintain collaborative internal client relationships and utilize defined tools to ensure added value is achieved by use of Supply Chain
  • Maintain knowledge on company policies and procedures, as well as government laws and regulations to ensure activities are properly conducted and compliant 

We seek applications from people that not only have a ‘can-do' attitude and have a real passion for the food industry, but who also demonstrate:

  • Approx 2+ years in a purchasing/procurement/supply chain role within a sizeable Hotel/Hospitality business (preferable but not critical)
  • Strong general knowledge of culinary and hotel products
  • Experience in a role that requires interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated project and budget management skills
  • Superior communications skills
  • Calmness under pressure and strong levels of resilience
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to troubleshoot and make decisions
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Prior exposure to CrunchTime! will be beneficial
  • A fantastic sense of humour!
